Hair Damage

What is it?

If you don't know what damaged hair looks like, these are the main characteristics: Split ends, broken hair and uneven color. Did you know that there are different types of hair damage and that, to know which treatment option is best for you, it is important to determine what type of damage you have?

hair damage  It is one of the most widespread beauty problems and can be divided into three main categories: thermal, mechanical or chemical .

Thermal:  It is caused by the excessive use of heat styling tools, which is why our existence is always that if you cannot avoid their use, always seek to protect your hair with a thermoprotector.

Mechanic: Excessive wear or friction on the hair can be caused by brushing your hair too hard or with very wet hair, by rubbing with pillows, poor drying technique or by holding your hair too tightly with inappropriate hair ties.

Chemical:  It is caused by the use of chemical treatments on the hair. Among them coloring products, bleaching products or even chemical or permanent straightening products.

If you want to know what damage your hair is experiencing, here I leave you this small guide so that you can detect the characteristic signs of each one.

thermal damage

They dry out the hair, causing roughness and split ends.  You can take a lock of hair and examine your ends if you notice that your ends are split and that some hairs are shorter than others you most likely have thermal damage

D mechanical years

Mechanical damage also causes split ends  and the damage is distributed more evenly uniformly from growth  to the tips, provoking irregularly cut hair,  lack of shine and a lot of frizz .

The best way to avoid this type of damaged hair is to switch to a microfiber towel and a silk pillowcase to reduce friction at night, and rethink your choice of hairstyles, avoiding tight updos that pull on the hair and cause it. They hold tight in certain sections. Treatments for existing mechanical damage rely primarily on replenishing lost moisture with nourishing hair masks and serums.

Chemical damage

Chemical damage is easier to notice, if you have undergone a color or bleaching process and your hair has lost shine, has more frizz than normal, you may even notice that your hair stretches more than normal or breaks when brushing, I'm afraid to tell you that you have chemical damage to your hair.
